"Life doesn't come with instructions, but for a daughter, it comes with a mother," said Leonitha Francis, our founder, during her keynote address to the attendees of the Mother-Daughter Hats & Pearls Tea Luncheon for the Reid Temple A.M.E. Church's Rites of Passage Ministry. The tea was the culmination of another season for the mentorship ministry to young girls at the North campus of the Reid Temple A.M.E. Church in Silver Spring, Maryland. The Rites of Passage ministry serves girls grades 7 through 12 with spiritual and practical mentorship to aid their transition into womanhood.
"Life doesn't come with instructions, but for a daughter, it comes with a mother." - Leonitha Francis
Highlighted with personal touches of her own relationship with her mother, Leonitha delivered a very heartwarming and poignant keynote address that touched the hearts of the mothers and daughters in attendance. In her keynote, Leonitha, admonished the daughters to embrace the everlasting friendship between mother and daughter. Likewise, she admonished the mothers to teach their daughters to be great women, wives and mothers by virtue of their own example.
The event was closed with presentation of gifts to the graduating high school seniors, photos and love and fellowship. We're so excited to be have been a part of the Mother-Daughter Hats & Pearls Tea Luncheon with the Rites of Passage Ministry of the Reid Temple A.M.E. Church.
